Iraq pictures

Here are the latest pictures my dad sent. He is doing well, just very hot and sandy all the time. He teaches classes on culture and government so he keeps very busy. A rocket hit camp Taji last week and killed 2 men. No place is safe over there. Keep all the men and women in your prayers!

Horse Lessons

Elizabeth has started horse lessons! She is soooooo excited! Of course Isabella doesn't understand why her big sister gets to do it but not her. It is no fun being the young one! The stable owner has 48 horses on over 100 acres of land. It is so beautiful out there. It is only about 20 minutes away but it seems to be a world away, so peaceful. This was Liz's first time to ride English style verses Western. The saddle is different but she caught on quick! We are looking forward to many more relaxing afternoons!

First Day of School!

Her are some pictures from the girls first day of school. Isabella started kindergarten and her teacher is Mrs. LeVeau. Elizabeth started 5th grade and her teacher is Mrs. White. We were all very happy to be back at school! The girls definitely needed to be with their friends again. I cannot believe my baby is in Kindergarten already! Note the picture of Isabella with her new lunchbox. She did not want the cute girlie lunchboxes, she HAD to have the camo one. But not the pink camo one, she had to have the REAL Army lunchbox just like her grandpa! How could I resist that request?

Last day of Summer!

This was our last day of summer. We went to Callaway Gardens and spent it at the beach. We swam and miniature golfed. Afterwards I took some pictures by the lake. I found a strange light in some of them that I can't explain. Some say that ghosts show up as white lights in pictures. Mom and I think grandma E. could have been spending the afternoon with us. The light only showed up in some of the pictures! Pretty cool!
